چکیده
In this paper, a large-eddy simulation study of turbulent free surface flow over natural rough bed is presented. A three-dimensional multiphase model employed to the roughness effects on turbulence properties and dynamics. The governing equations have been discretized using finite volume method, with Cartesian cut-cell method being implemented deal precise scanned gravel topography deformable captured by fluid method. predicted mean velocities statistics compared experimental data. close agreement has obtained between two sets results, providing confirmation that complementary approach investigations gives further insight into dynamics beds. It found small waves are generated due effect for relative low submergence case.

Transonic turbulent boundary-layer flow over a circular-arc bump has been computed by high-resolution large-eddy simulation of the compressible Navier–Stokes equations. The inflow turbulence was prescribed using a new technique, in which known dynamical features of the inner and outer part of the boundary-layer were exploited to produce a standard turbulent boundary-layer within a short distanc...
متن کاملLarge-eddy simulation of turbulent flow over an array of wall-mounted cubes submerged in an emulated atmospheric boundary-layer
Turbulent flow over an array of wall-mounted cubic obstacles has been numerically investigated using large-eddy simulation. The simulations have been performed using high-performance computations with local cluster systems. The array of cubes are fully submerged in a simulated deep rough-wall atmospheric boundary-layer with high turbulence intensity characteristics of environmental turbulent fl...
متن کاملLarge-Eddy Simulation of Turbulent Flow over an Axisymmetric Hill
Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) of high Reynolds number turbulent flow over an axisymmetric hill of height H = 2δ, where δ is the incoming turbulent boundary layer thickness, is presented in this paper. Surface mean pressure, flow visualization and mean velocity profiles are presented and compared with experiments. In general, good agreement is obtained for the surface mean pressure and axial flow ...
